WMCA EDUCATION COORDINATOR VACANCY

Your WMCA Executive Committee invites you to apply for the position of WMCA Education Coordinator. The appointment, made by the President with concurrence of the Executive Committee, is for a three year term starting in mid-March (appointment to be confirmed at the March 15 Executive Committee meeting). You must have already served three years on either the Executive Committee or the Education and Professional Development Committee to serve in this position.

The Education Coordinator is a key position in our organization. You will work closely with Institute Director Dema Harris on issues related to our Pro-fessional Development and MMC certification classes, act as a representative to the Northwest Clerks Institute Committee (with clerks from Alaska and Oregon), and have oversight of the Education and Professional Development Committee (which includes the education component of the annual conference). Keeping up on the latest IIMC certification guidelines is an important part of the job.

Please submit your letter of interest to WMCA President Sandy Byers (Pierce Transit, P.O. Box 99070, Lakewood WA 99070) by February 12, 2007. Include a letter of support from your supervisor, City Manager or Mayor as well. Part of the job is attending some Executive Committee meetings (travel expenses are not reimbursed by WMCA).

This is a great opportunity, an extremely vital role in our organization, and can be a lot of fun as well. Please review the Job Description and feel free to contact me if you have any questions about the position.

Pam Kolacy, WMCA Education Coordinator
