AWC and the Washington Municipal
Clerks Association are co-sponsoring a half-day discussion forum on
public records, specifically electronic records management. This
event is an opportunity to learn the "ins and outs" of state law
regarding electronic records, to hear from the Washington State
Archives office about their new WAC rules for using the Digital
Archives services, and a chance to ask your burning questions and
have discussion about how to manage and maintain public records in
their electronic form in accordance with local records retention
schedules. The discussion panel will include Jerry Hanfield, WA
State Archivist, Pat Mason, Municipal Research Services,
Ramsey Ramerman of
Foster Pepper LLP,
and others.
WHO: Local government records management, clerks, information
services, and any other local government employee interested in
learning more about how to manage electronic records.
